The MNZCC is very pleased to again organise another celebration of Waitangi Day, which is New Zealand's National Day, that is held on 6th February every year.
The past 6 celebrations of Waitangi Day have been held at the KL Tower, Istana Budaya and the New Zealand High Commissioner's Residence.
This year, we have arranged to celebrate at The Spread, on the 6th Floor, at the attractive 5-star Gardens Hotel, located at the Mid Valley City.
I am writing to you as the President of the University of Canterbury Alumni, Malaysia (UCAM), as well as the Immediate Past Chairman of the Malaysia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce (MNZCC).
The New Zealand Annual Dinner and Dance (NZAD&D) has already achieved the reputation of being “the biggest and most popular party in Kuala Lumpur”, with world class entertainers from New Zealand, every year, and attended by a wide range of prominent Malaysians and expatriates.
As the event has grown very large over the past 7 years, it is interesting to note that about 70% of the attendees each year, are “repeat” attendees from the previous years.
With about 620 guests in 2007 and 630 in 2008, and with 2 international performers performing in this year’s programme, it is expected that the attendance will be even bigger.
Last year, we sent the Flyer to all of the Members of UCAM and UC Alumni, and we thought that we would again send the Flyer to you all, as you may consider this as a positive event for you to circulate to your friends.
We are pleased to inform you that a delegation of 6 from the University of Canterbury, including the Chancellor, will be attending the NZAD&D 2009.
The MNZCC will be celebrating its 17th Annual Dinner and Dance this year, on Saturday, 15 August 2009 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
The MNZCC, together with the generous support of its Sponsors, have put in a lot of effort in making this year’s New Zealand Annual Dinner and Dance an evening of fine dining and fine entertainment for its members and guests.
* The Main Performer for the night is Frankie Stevens – back by popular demand.
* The Opening Act, at 8:30pm, will be by KAHURANGI - The Maori Dance Theatre of New Zealand. Also back by popular demand. Kahurangi commenced performing at the NZAD&D in 2002, and because of their remarkable popularity, and feedback from Malaysians and other expatriates, they have performed at the NZAD&D every year from 2002 – 2007.
* We have attached the Flyer, which gives more details about the coming NZAD&D, together with a Reservation Form.
We do hope you can consider supporting the MNZCC by circulating the Flyer to all of your friends, and you may want to consider gathering up with some family members, friends, colleagues, associates, staff members, to attend the MNZCC’s New Zealand Annual Dinner and Dance on Saturday, 15 August 2009.
It again promises to be a memorable night!
My kind regards,
UNIVERSITY OF CANTERBURY ALUMNI, MALAYSIA

Dear Members,
THE PARTY OF THE YEAR !!
THE 16TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE NEW ZEALAND ANNUAL DINNER & DANCE ON SATURDAY, 16 AUGUST 2008
It is my pleasure being the outgoing Chairman, to write to you all about the 16th Anniversary of the New Zealand Annual Dinner and Dance, which will be held on Saturday, 16th August 2008 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
Elizabeth Marvelly who is a very young and beautiful performer with rare talent, is New Zealand’s newest singing sensation, and she will be our entertainer for the evening.
Under the astute guidance of Gary Barlett MBE and NZEA Ltd, whose stable of discoveries include the famous Hayley Westenra, Yulia Townsend, Ben Morrison and Will Martin, Elizabeth was presented to EMI (UK) President of Classics and Jazz, Costa Pilavachi, as the face and voice of the future, in cross-over classical-pop.
Gary Barlett’s comments about Elizabeth, are remarkable – “Elizabeth is without doubt my greatest discovery in 50 years of music; She’s glamorous with the voice of an angel !!”
The New Zealand Annual Dinner and Dance has established itself on the Kuala Lumpur Calendar, as having the most popular entertainment programmes over the past 6 years, with attendances increasing from 200+ in 2002, to 619 in 2007, and both the Shangri-La and the MNZBC are confident that we will “Sell-Out” at 800 at this year’s event.
DON'T WAIT ..... GET SOME FRIENDS TOGETHER ..... SEND IN YOUR RESERVATIONS FOR A FANTASTIC NIGHT, AS THE BAR WILL REMAIN OPEN, AND DANCING WILL CONTINUE UNTIL 0200 AM !
For further information and registration, kindly refer to the attached Flyer, and if you are unable to open and print the Flyer and the Reservation Form, then please email us, or call us, and we will post and fax the Flyer and Reservation Form to you.
My kind regards,
