Malaysia Alumni Functions 2014

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Dr Hamish Cochrane invites you to a University of Canterbury alumni function in Malaysia. This will be a great opportunity to meet with University of Canterbury staff, and fellow alumni living in your city. Dr Cochrane will update you on the latest developments at the University and the new campus plans.

I write to let you know that applications for the three $10,000 UC Malaysia Alumni City and Regional Scholarships close in just over two weeks, on 15 November. Applications for the $5,000 UC Malaysian Alumni Scholarship close on 31 January 2014. See below for details and links to the UC Scholarships website for more information.

I would be grateful for anything you are able to do to promote the scholarships, particularly to our education agents, and to those families whose sons or daughters plan to apply to attend UC in 2014.

Later today I will email all UC Malaysian alumni and friends, for whom we have email addresses, to promote the scholarships.

The biggest and most popular Party in Kuala Lumpur is back again !�

It is with great pleasure that I am writing to you to announce that the “New Zealand Annual Dinner & Dance 2013� (NZADD) will be held on:

Date : Saturday, 12 October 2013

Venue : Grand Ballroom, Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

Please record it down in your diary as it has become a “must go to� event.

CIMB, Maybank, AmBank (3), Sime Darby (2), TNB (2), Dialog (8) and 40+ other companies kindly order tables every year – for 60 tables, and this year the MNZCC is optimistic to sell the remaining 20 tables, to sell-out at 80 tables, with the objective to sell-out every year from this year!!

By popular demand, we are bringing back the Lady Killers one more time, and they will perform 2 sets for a total of 2 hours.

Every year we receive an amazing amount of feedback from many kind Malaysians and a wide range of expatriates from the other International Chambers, about the great entertainment programme, fine dining, fine New Zealand wines, with a free flow of wines, beer, kiwi fruit and mangosteen juices, and soft drinks throughout the evening, and dancing until 2.00am.

They consider that the NZADD is one of the most popular and largest annual events every year on the KL Calendar!

There will also be the popular carpet auction, and great lucky draw prizes to be won, including a return ticket to New Zealand on Malaysia Airlines.

The NZADD became the biggest and most popular event on the KL Calendar in 2007, and it has averaged over 600+ guests for 6 years, and this year, we already have approaching 60 tables that have confirmed tables and tickets, and as mentioned above, they expect to sell-out at 80 tables.

It is a huge party – come and enjoy it!
