The figures shown are in New Zealand Dollars. Please note that the money are held by the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. As part of New Zealand’s involvement in World Expo, Minister of Education Anne Tolley will lead a delegation including the Vice-Chancellors of seven NZ universities to focus on NZ’s education partnership with China. During this Expo Education Week, the Minister and Vice-Chancellors, including UC’s Dr Rod Carr, will host a combined reception for alumni of NZ universities.

Alumni Reunion Weekend 2010, 8-10 October 2010
The 2010 Alumni Reunion Weekend is for all alumni of the graduating classes of 1970 and preceding years [Note: this is the year of your graduation ceremony, not final year of study]. All graduates, former students and staff of these years are invited to attend. The weekend will also celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the National Centre for Research on Europe – all graduates, current students and staff of NCRE are invited to join in the festivities. 1 MAY 2010, SATURDAY - CLEARWATER SANCTUARY GOLF RESORT
We are proud to present the ever Popular Golfing Day “Hannah Azizuddin Challenge Trophy 2010” which is held at the Clearwater Sanctuary Golf Resort, near Ipoh each year. This year it will be held on Saturday 1 May 2010.
The trophy was jointly donated by Mr Timothy Hannah, a previous New Zealand High Commissioner based in Kuala Lumpur, and by Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Hj. Ahmad Azizuddin bin Hj. Zainal, a prominent Malaysian Businessman, who is a graduate from the University of Otago.
The trophy is a specially designed competition for 3 teams of golfers from The Malaysia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce, The Clearwater Sanctuary Golf Resort, and from the combined New Zealand University Alumnis in Malaysia.
We would like to encourage as many Members as possible, to participate in the event.
Kindly make your reservations as soon as possible. The closing date for this event is 26 April 2010, Monday.

Former Minister of Education and Agriculture Tan Sri Dr Sulaiman Daud died Tuesday at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (KLH) after a long illness. He was 77.
KLH director Datuk Dr Zaininah Mohd Zain said Sulaiman died at 8.10am and his remains had been taken to his home at 61, Lorong Lai Tet Lok Satu, off Jalan Gurney, here.
Sulaiman, who turned 77 on March 4, leaves behind four children, sons Mahathir and Azman and daughters Norshida and Zelda Raha.
His wife, Puan Sri Naemah Hasbi died on March 26, 2005 of lung cancer.
Sulaiman, who was a former vice-president of Sarawak's Parti Pesaka Bumiputera (PBB) and a former Member of Parliament for Petra Jaya, had held various federal ministerial posts.
He was first appointed Federal Territory Minister on March 19, 1981.
He also served as the Minister of Education (from 1981 to 1984 and from 1991 to 1995), Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports (1984 to 1986), Minister of Land and Regional Development (1986 to 1989), Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (1989 to 1990), Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (1990 to 1991) and, finally, as the Minister of Agriculture (1995 to 1999).
The Kuching-born Sulaiman held a PhD in dentistry from the University of Otago, New Zealand, and had served as a dentist with the Sarawak government and the Brunei Medical Department in the 1960's. - Bernama
