Season’s Greetings from the UC Alumni Office!
2007 has been a busy year, with more than 30 alumni events taking place and numerous other UC community events. We warmly thank you for all your feedback, participation and support throughout the year, and look forward to bringing you further exciting developments in 2008! A final update before the closing:
Canterbury Magazine
The Summer 2007 issue of the Canterbury magazine was mailed this week – if you do not receive your copy within the next fortnight, your address details may be out of date or updated too late to receive it. You can request a copy at any time from the Alumni Office.
Event Updates
There are three events for UC alumni coming up on 27 November – the RSVP date has passed but we are still accepting registrations for each:
End of Year Wellington Get-Together – join fellow alumni in Wellington for drinks and nibbles, and hear guest speaker Cameron Bagrie, Chief Economist of the ANZ National Bank and a Canterbury MCom graduate (1996). Tickets: $25 pp; partners welcome.
Christmas Dinner for Hong Kong-based Alumni – Professor Nigel Healey, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the College of Business and Economics, will host a Christmas Dinner for alumni based in Hong Kong. Complimentary for alumni; partners welcome but required to pay cost of meal.
MBA Cocktail Function – UC MBA alumni, current students and staff and MBA alumni of other NZ institutions are invited to attend a cocktail function at The Christchurch Club with guest speaker Steven Hall (MBA, 2003), Director of the Outward Bound School, who this year received a 2007 Sir Peter Blake Emerging Leader Award. Tickets: $15 pp; partners welcome.
Please pass the word onto other UC alumni you know who may be interested in attending these functions.
Student Loan Survey for Overseas Alumni
Are you overseas? Do you have a NZ student loan? You could win up to $300 Icebreaker clothing by answering a few questions!
Colmar Brunton, an independent research company, has been commissioned to carry out research on the effectiveness of communications about student loans.
Your answers will be treated in complete confidence by Colmar Brunton. No one outside the research team will be able to identify any individuals from the survey. To complete the 5-10 minute survey, click here: http://survey.cbrak.co.nz/kiwisoverseas.
Christmas & Graduation Gifts
Looking for a unique and special gift? Why not select a item from the UC Gifts collection. The UC Alumni Association provides a range of attractive commemorative items, including the new and very popular Graduation Ring, which is engraved with your degree and year of graduation and can be personalized with your name (up to 20 characters total). Items are available year-round from the UC Alumni Office (Level 5, Registry), by mail order and at the venue of each Graduation.
All the very best to you and your family for safe and happy holidays over the festive season.
With best wishes,
From the UC Alumni Office Staff & Alumni Association Executive Committee
